The Dying Town of My Childhood
This picture, this day, is particularly important to me.
This merry-go-round is located in a park joined to an old, defunct Catholic school across the street from a church in Tucumcari, New Mexico. I grew up in this deserted desert town. It used to be full of neon and tourists, all driving down Route 66. Since the highway was built that bypassed the town, it has long since stopped flourishing and has become old and withered. It's steeped in history, and it's dying. This was one of the towns used for inspiration in the movie Cars.

So, I was being a camera whore like I do every now and again. I forgot to bring the camera with me the rest of the day though, because I'm a dope. I missed out on some really photogenic moments at Irondequoit Bay.

Dried Yucca
This is a dried out yucca, the state flower. Hah, yeah, I know, flower, but in New Mexico they take what they can get. Really, it's a beautiful plant, and the Indians/Native Americans/Whatever used to use it for various means in many herbal mixtures. They get big, too. Like, 9' or higher big. Woah.

Went to Ellison Park today. It was fairly gloomy, but I got two shots that I really enjoyed. They don't work terribly well together as a piece, so look at them seperately?

Tea Time
YAY for Christmas presnats. My mommy got me a teapot and some teas for Christmas. I've only had one of the ones she's bought me so far, the Matte Vana Roobis Chai, but its amazing chocolatey and caffinated and yummmmmm. She also got me a "Getting Serious Tea" for when I study and stuff which is a white with peach. It smells awesome. She also got me the Classical Green Chai. ^_^

I had this awesome shoot all set up, by buddy Ray and I were going to go play pool, and it was going to be fantastic. However, what is planned rarely happens in my life, so I kind of improvised. The whole series turned out pretty good, but I really liked this one.

So hi. I figured introducing you to my current habitat would be appropriate. Those are my fish (Hi, Halo and Wolfwood!), that's my computer monitor, and that's a mostly empty coke bottle. There were a lot more before I put them in recycling.
Oh, and, I probably speak for both of us, but if you want to see any of these pictures at a higher resolution or want to use them or anything, just ask. I mean, yeah, they're all copyrighted to us, 2008, yada yada, but come on. We're reasonable folks. ^_^

Well, as January 1st was teh New Year, obviously my mind wasn't on getting the best photo, rather getting as many as possible within a short period of time. I think that one fairly well summed up the day though. Beer, dancing, and all around silliness. There's a Jodi under that dancing duo, by the by.
